I am a freelance web designer based in Stretford, Greater Manchester. I design, build, and host websites for small and medium sized businesses. I also provide SEO and photography – but more about that here.
As a small business myself, I understand how important it is to get the absolute most out of limited resources and budgets, so pride myself on providing a clear and honest service that gets the most out of hard-earned time and money. It doesn’t matter if you’re starting from scratch and need everything from a domain, hosting, emails, or branding, or if you already have everything else sorted and just need a website, I’m here to help.
With every website I build, I take time to understand what you want and what you need it to do, I’ll listen to your ideas and give constructive, honest advice where appropriate. Ultimately, my mission is to build you a website that ticks all the right boxes and one that I’d be proud to show off as my own. You can see some of my recent web design projects in my portfolio by clicking here.
I also try to make my pricing structure quite clear and have published a price guide here. There are always variables though, so please do send me an email, tell me what you need, and I will happily give you a free, no obligation estimate.
Freelance web design
My design process is driven by 2 main core values.
The first being user experience – making sure all information is clearly presented and that calls to action are placed optimally to ensure that interested visitors initiate contact. All my web design projects are fully ‘responsive’, which means that good user experience is maintained when a visitor arrives on a 4K monitor, a laptop, iPad or a mobile phone.
Secondly, all new websites are built with a solid SEO base, all the important foundations that you can’t go back and work on later are optimised for good SEO from day 1. This means that if you want to get going with SEO at any point, you are ready to go.
As a freelance web designer, the relationships I build with my clients are often closer and more personable that they would be if I was working for an agency, and I recognise the importance of maintaining a good reputation as a lot of my work comes from recommendation and word of mouth.

My web design pricing structure
All my quotes are based on a simple hourly rate of £35/hour, or £280/ day. I try to keep this rate the same for web design, SEO or photography.
I realise that doesn’t mean much on its own, so as a guide, generally the cost of a standard 5-page website that has a home page, 3 service pages and a contact page with a contact form will probably look something like this:
2 hours setup = £70
3 unique web pages at 3 hours each = £315
2 pages from designs I can template at 2 hours each = £140
Total website design and build cost = £525
There are a few common extras in the form of annual costs, but you can arrange these elements independently if you wish, but my rates are competitive:
Fast, secure WordPress web hosting with SSL certificate = £120/year
Standard 500mb email (yourname@yourdomain) mailbox = £30/year
You will also need your own domain name, which is better registered independently as you will be able to get a better deal by shopping around. I can do this on your behalf, but I will stick to my own provider, which might be slightly more expensive. Domain costs differ by domain but are usually only around £10/year or less.
Other costs you might need to consider: a logo or branding, or perhaps you need website content writing or stock images licensing. Don’t worry, these are common requirements and if you can’t do this yourself, I can help at my hourly rate.
